This is unacceptable!

I was amazed to see your article ‘Driving in the dark’ in the Sandton Chronicle (week ending June 19) as I too have been concerned about the lack of working lights on the highway in the same area.

It is really ridiculous, dangerous and unacceptable. A city like Johannesburg should without a doubt have functioning lights on major highways. I was really nervous driving that route recently, and was shocked and outraged that they still have not been fixed. I was also upset to see that some of the major lights around OR Tambo International Airport weren’t working, and tried to report those as well. I was sent from pillar to post – all to no avail. I wrote to Joburg Connect’ concerning the lights on the M1 all the way to New Road from Grayston (a few are working near Woodmead) – no response.
