lm08raoul2Chronicle Reporter

Morningside resident and Redhill Grade 9 pupil Raoul Hyman in his CRG kart won round one of the Engen Supakarts Regional in Vereeniging. Hyman drives a CRG for the Ed Murray Racing Team and put in a fine performance to claim victory in round one.

The reigning Mini Max SA national champion showed  he was able to make the transition up to the faster Junior Rok Class by taking overall honours with a second in Heat 1, a first in Heat 2, and a first in the final.
Hyman had to recover after his kart’s axle failure in the qualifying round, which sidelined him after two laps and placed him sixth on the grid.
He produced an inspired drive to finish second in Heat 1.
Heat 2 was a ding-dong battle for him. The final round produced an exciting race, with Hyman coming out in front followed by Jordan Pepper.
