Abed AhmedMarlboro Gardens resident and teacher Taheera Seedat was awarded cluster leader for technology in the intermediate phase in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
The technology teacher and self-confessed English specialist was also twice nominated for the National Teachers Award in the secondary phase.
Seedat, an author of school literature, said, “I believe the sky is the limit and success is inevitable if one is driven, motivated and committed.”
Having completed herlevel two teaching course, Seedat said she was full of hope to reach her optimum potential.
“I have reached many milestones in my life and will reach more.”
Her study guide on Shakespeare’s Macbeth has already been well received by pupils,while her short story and poetry are in the pipeline and will be launched soon.
She believes that strong-willed and quality teachers are excellent role models for pupils, and remains optimistic at making a difference in pupils’ lives. “I am very proud to be part of an efficiently managed school and to work under the auspices of principal Bilkees Vawda and members of the school governing body who are extremely supportive.”
